Letter to the editor: Insurance agents can help people navigate ACA
With so much media attention being directed to the Affordable Care Act website and issues involving use of the website, one must be reminded that individuals who receive health care insurance from an employer need not worry. Employers may be dealing with changes due to the Affordable Care Act, but individuals with insurance through their employers do not have to deal with the website issues.
Furthermore, individuals may sign up for health care insurance plans through insurance agents who have experience with health care applications instead of wandering through a difficult website. In North Dakota, there are many insurance agents who have completed the necessary requirements to navigate the health care exchanges for those individuals who wish to utilize some of the provisions of the health care act. The insurance agent can also assist customers in evaluating whether or not they even need to explore health care through the exchange.
The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors in North Dakota has a list of agents who have completed the necessary requirements to assist individuals with their health insurance. Contact NAIFA-ND at firstname.lastname@example.org or 701-258-9525.
