Make-A-Wish helps Gackle teen

A 17-year-old from Gackle is set to swim with dolphins in Hawaii, thanks to Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Dakota.

Jeana Hess, who suffers from severe pulmonary hypertension associated with congenital heart disease, is heading for a Hawaii vacation as a break from her medical appointments. In Hawaii, she will swim with dolphins, explore natural wildlife and ride horses on her birthday.

Hess’ Adopt-A-Wish sponsor, Jewelers for Children, hosted a sendoff party for Hess on Monday in Bismarck.

Make-A-Wish grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, and its North Dakota chapter has granted more than 680 wishes since it began in 1985. For more information, visit www.north dakota.wish.org.
