Man rescued after fall into grain bin

CASSELTON, N.D. — An ethanol plant employee was airlifted to a hospital after he fell from a 150-foot grain bin Friday afternoon.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Casselton and Leonard fire departments, were dispatched to Tharaldson Ethanol in Casselton around 1:30 p.m., according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

An employee of Tharaldson reported that a male co-worker was working on the grain bin and fell into it.

Rescue crews were able to get the man out of the bin, and he was taken by LifeFlight to a Fargo hospital to be treated for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, the release said.
