Man who was found dead on tracks in Fargo identified
FARGO — Police on Saturday released the name of the 26-year-old man who was found dead Friday on train tracks near an underpass in Fargo.
Benjamin Gaffrey Knier of Fargo was found on the eastbound track about 4:20 p.m.
Fargo police Lt. Joel Vettel said Friday that police were still investigating the time of death.
“There are a number of reasons why he’d be there,” Vettel said. “It certainly isn’t an area where people typically pass over just to cross on the railroad tracks, so chances are there was another ulterior motive for him to be there at the time of the incident.”
It had not been determined whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
