Authorities identify man who died in fiery crash on Interstate 29 south of Grand Forks

Mildred Hertel, 92, Pingree, ND passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 surrounded by her family. Mildred was born in Carrington, ND to Nels and Clara Anderson on February 27th 1922. She was united in marriage to William Hertel on September 15th 1940 by the Reverend N.E. McCoy. William and Mildred farmed and ranched all their lives in the rural Pingree area. Mildred loved the farm and resided there all her life. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, cooking and attending family get-togethers. Well known by family for making the best lefse and pickles around. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life always taking an interest in what each one were doing. She will be deeply missed by family. Mildred is survived by her son, Jerry (Gladys) Hertel, Pingree ND; four grandchildren, Lynne (Thomas) Voglewede, Carrington ND, Stacey Hertel, Bismarck ND, Joelle (Loren) Davis, Oologah OK, and Darrin (Farrah) Hertel, Carrington ND; ten great-grandchildren, Tyler Carr, Preston Carr, and Austen Carr all of Carrington ND, Brittney (Bryce) Brunswig, Gretna NE, Amanda (Dustin) Kleppe, Fargo, ND, Cassie (Randy) Ramsey, Tulsa OK, Chelsie (Jeff) Larson, Maddock ND, Cole Davis, Oologah OK, Haley Hertel and Macy Hertel both of Bismarck ND, two great-great grandchildren Ainsleigh and Hudson Brunswig, Gretna NE; two sisters, Inez Fandrich, Carrington ND, and Helen Scheck, Torrance CA; one brother Cordes Anderson, Spokane WA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William, great-grandson Brock Gussiaas, sisters Edna Summers, Ella Heinitz, Delores Summers, Phyllis Brister, and brothers Eldon, Dave, Wallace, Gordon, and Norman Anderson.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, July 7, 2014 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.

Visitation: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Sunday, July 6 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
