Minn. man killed in motorcycle crash

BRAINERD, Minn. — A 30-year-old Brainerd man was killed Monday after the motorcycle he was driving crashed with a Chevrolet Blazer in west Brainerd.

John D. Helstrom was traveling east on Highway 210, also known as Washington Street, in Brainerd about 2:39 p.m. when it collided with the Blazer, driven by David J. Dale, 56, of Hillman, as the Blazer made a left turn, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

Helstrom was flown to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he died. Helstrom was not wearing a helmet.

Hillman was not injured, the state patrol reported.
