Minn. snowmobiler killed by train Sunday afternoon identified

BRAINERD, Minn. — A snowmobiler died Sunday after colliding with a train in east Brainerd, the Brainerd Police Department reported.

Emergency personnel were called to the crash about 1:35 p.m. at the railroad tracks under the Highway 25 South bridge in east Brainerd.

Thirty-year-old Michael David Flannigan of Brainerd died shortly after responders arrived.

Flannigan was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
