Minot taking suggestions for project
MINOT (AP) -- Minot officials are looking at ways to spruce up areas that were flooded two years ago.
More than 4,000 homes, businesses and other structures were affected when the Souris River spilled its banks in June 2011. Many flood-damaged homes remain boarded up.
The River Front and Center project is meant to rebuild and improve those areas in the center of town. Some ideas for the plan include improving trail systems, building new parks and encouraging commercial development.
The Minot Daily News reported that city officials will review suggestions for the project and will release a draft plan for public meetings in November.
