Montpelier OK Club meets
The Montpelier OK Club met at Legacy Living on Nov. 5 with 14 members present. President Marlys Boughton opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Janet Van Bruggen read enjoyable “Sayings of Phyllis Diller,” and DeLila Everson presented a reading.
The secretary and treasurer’s reports were accepted as read. Two new decks of pinochle cards were purchased. There was no correspondence, old or new business.
Boughton was the winner of the door prize, a senior citizens meal ticket.
Bingo was played with these winners: small frame, Van Bruggen, and large frame, Boughton, Everson and Lorraine Gall. Gall also won the blackout game.
Cards were played with winners in whist: high, Lorraine Jorgenson and Marjorie Limesand, and low, Willie Kamletz and Everson, and in pinochle: high, Harriet Kartes, and low, Gerald Van Bruggen.
Lorraine Jorgenson furnished the dessert in honor of her 87th birthday on Nov. 22.
Members should think about ideas/suggestions to bring up for the Christmas potluck meeting in December.
The next meeting of the Montpelier OK Club is today at Legacy Living. Attendees should use the west door and follow the arrows. Guests are welcome; the group meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
The OK in the club’s name stands for “Older Kids,” but members are really “young at heart.”
