ND city tries for world record ice cream dessert
CAVALIER, N.D. (AP) -- Residents of the northeast North Dakota city of Cavalier are making and eating a 600-foot-long ice cream sundae in the hopes of setting a world record.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that Main Street will be blocked off Saturday for the attempt sponsored by Teen Light Ministry.
The record for longest ice cream dessert belongs to Wyandotte, Kan. The dessert constructed July 28, 2011, measured 154 feet 2 inches. It featured 275 pounds of vanilla ice cream and more than 85 pounds of toppings.
