N.D. Guard prepares for winter weather

BISMARCK (AP) — The North Dakota National Guard is preparing for winter blizzards.

The Bismarck Tribune reported that the Guard conducted its annual preparation for response to blizzard conditions on Saturday in Bismarck.

Guard spokeswoman Billie Jo Lorius said the drill is about making sure all the entities within the National Guard work together and know their roles when the snow flies and duty calls.

Only 1 inch of snow has fallen in Bismarck this year, compared to the average of 6.2 inches.
