NDARE announces agenda for meeting
The North Dakota Alliance for Renewable Energy has announced the agenda for its upcoming February membership meeting from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Farmers Union State Headquarters building in Jamestown.
NDARE, a membership organization dedicated to fostering development of renewable energy and energy efficiency, is hosting Lynn Hinkle, policy director for the Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association. Hinkle will give a presentation on Minnesota policies and programs related to solar energy, especially in light of the state’s recent adoption of a solar energy standard. With some exceptions, the new standard includes 1.5 percent solar requirement for investor-owned utilities by the year 2020.
“The cost of solar technology has dropped significantly in recent years, which has resulted in dramatically increased activity both nationally and internationally.” said Kim Christianson, NDARE president. “Minnesota has been a leader in state policies and programs for solar installations, and Mr. Hinkle’s presentation will be very educational for our members.”
Also on the agenda is an update on the status of North Dakota’s Renewable Energy Fund, the Energy Efficiency Grant Program for public buildings, along with a number of other items for the business meeting, including initial discussion of NDARE policy goals and legislative initiatives. A complete agenda is posted on NDARE’s website at www.ndare.org.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend. There is no cost to attend, but RSVP is required and can be done by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/THCQF8X.
