NDHP on patrol for Thanksgiving travel
On Wednesday, all available North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers will be on patrol statewide. The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year and the NDHP is ramping up enforcement efforts.
This year there have been 124 fatal crashes on North Dakota roadways. The NDHP is asking motorists to make responsible choices when driving. Drivers should buckle up, drive for the conditions, and don’t drink and drive. Avoid distracted driving such as talking on a cellphone, texting, or any activity that takes attention away from the road. Allow more time to travel during winter months. If you see an impaired driver, call 911.
The patrol is maximizing its efforts to increase visibility throughout the holiday season.
