NDSU names Klieman as its next head football coach
FARGO (AP) — Chris Klieman will be the next head football coach at North Dakota State.
The 46-year-old Klieman is completing his third season as an assistant coach with the Bison, the last two as defensive coordinator. He previously served as an assistant coach for nine years at Northern Iowa.
Klieman replaces Craig Bohl, who is headed to Wyoming when NDSU finishes its quest toward a third straight Football Championship Subdivision title.
Klieman, a native of Waterloo, Iowa, played defensive back at Northern Iowa.
The school has scheduled an 11 a.m. news conference to introduce Klieman as its next coach.
The Bison defeated Coastal Carolina 48-14 Saturday in the FCS quarterfinals. They face New Hampshire in Friday's semifinal game at the Fargodome.
