Jamestown rained down 3-pointers on Briar Cliff, though the two teams were tied at 37 at halftime.

The Jimmies finished 11-of-32 from long range, with four coming from Morgan Mathison, who had a team-high 15 points to lead four players in double figures. Hannah Steele had a pair of 3-pointers as part of her 11 points. Jessica Buck (13) and Jordan Bridges (12) were also in double figures.

At 15-1, the Jimmies can take a breather to start the New Year. They don’t play until Jan. 12, when they host Oglala Lakota College, which starts a run of four straight home games. The men follow the same schedule.

On the men’s side, Mark Hoge had a game-high 21 points, but it wasn’t enough as Briar Cliff used a balanced effort to prevail 85-63.

Briar Cliff held a 39-37 lead at halftime, but 3-pointers by Kale Wietfeld and Shane Graves sparked a 14-0 run early in the second half that put BC up by double figures the rest of the way.

Clay Herreld and Brian Forbes paced Briar Cliff with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Eleven BC players scored at least a bucket.

Brothers Brequan and Breshion Tucker had 12 and 10 points, respectively, but the Jimmies suffered from watching BC go 32-of-40 from the foul line.
