Jamestown’s offense was clicking in the second half on Tuesday night.

The Blue Jays scored 50 points to run away with an 89-72 win in West Region boys basketball action in Mandan.


Logan Anderson had a game-high 22 points for Jamestown, which led 39-37 at halftime. He was one four players in double figures and added eight rebounds.

Noah Wanzek continued his strong play, pouring in 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field. The sophomore is statistically the top shooter in the West Region, making 24 of his 37 shot attempts for 65 percent. He also had seven rebounds and four steals, and keyed the second-half run with 17 points.

Nick Fuchs and Scott Nelson had 12 and 11 points, respectively. Fuchs picked up three fouls in the first 4 minutes of the game and had to sit for the rest of the first half. He finished with six assists.

The Blue Jays pulled ahead midway through the second half for the season sweep of the Braves. However, Mandan had the advantage early on, leading 20-10 at one point before two steals and easy buckets from Tanner Lunzman helped jumpstart a run. Lunzman ended with seven points and three steals.

Mandan was led by Jacob Hanson’s 14 points. The Braves dropped to 0-9 in the region and 1-11 overall.

Jamestown (3-5, 4-7) hosts Bismarck High on Saturday.
