OK Club meets at Legacy Center
The Montpelier OK Club met at Legacy Center on Dec. 3 for its Christmas meeting. There were 13 members and two guests, Ivan and Irene Gjerding, present.
There was no business meeting or cards played.
Bingo was played with Harriet Kartes winning the small picture frame, Irene Gjerding the large picture frame and Gerald Van Bruggen winning the blackout. Harold Ratts was the bingo caller.
Norman Winkelman’s name was drawn for the door prize meal ticket.
Christmas carols were sung with DeLette Winkelman playing the keyboard and Norman Winkelman directing the singing. The group had time to visit and tell about Christmases of the past while some of the ladies organized the potluck lunch brought by the members. The Senior Center staff members were guests for the bountiful lunch.
Take-home boxes were delivered to members who couldn’t come because of the weather. Willie Kamletz is so dedicated to ringing bells for the Salvation Army Kettle at the Mall that he didn’t come to the party. Marlys took his lunch to him when he got home.
The next meeting of the Montpelier OK Club will be at noon Jan. 7 at the Legacy Center. Participants should use the door on the west side of the building and then follow the arrows once inside. Guests are welcome.
