One injured in Saturday crash
An afternoon crash injured a young driver, who was also issued a citation, after the collision did about $5,000 in damage to both cars involved at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Lydia R. Lies, 17, of Jamestown, was driving a 1999 Pontiac south on 6th Avenue Southeast.
Frieda M. Larson, 83, of Jamestown, was driving a 2000 Toyota east on 13th Street Southeast.
According to the report, Lies didn’t yield at an uncontrolled intersection and struck Larson.
Both drivers wore seat belts, and while the Pontiac’s airbag deployed, the Toyota’s did not.
Lies reported an injury to her right shoulder and foot and was brought to a medical facility. Larson reported no injuries.
Lies was cited for failing to yield at intersection. Larson’s car was inoperable due to the damage it sustained, and it was towed.
