Open enrollment deadline is Dec. 7
North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm reminded North Dakota’s Medicare beneficiaries that the Medicare Part D open enrollment period ends Dec. 7. Medicare Part D provides prescription drug coverage.
“Part D plans change every year,” Hamm said, “so I encourage everyone to review them to make sure they’re getting the coverage they need at the lowest cost.”
The Insurance Department’s State Health Insurance Counseling Program has been traveling around the state since mid-October helping beneficiaries switch and enroll in Medicare Part D plans.
Medicare beneficiaries can also compare Part D plans by:
* Calling 211 from anywhere in North Dakota by Nov. 22. After answering a few questions, a customized comparison list of Part D plans will be mailed to the caller.
* Visiting www.med icare.gov and entering medication information to get a plan comparison.
