The Jamestown Optimist Club released their athletes of the week on Tuesday.

Sophomore Jadee Lange and freshman Alexa Kudrna were both honored for the high school girls award. Lange went 3-for-5 with two triples and pitched the Blue Jays to a win over Minot, her first conference win. Kudrna scored two goals against Grand Forks Central for a 3-1 victory, Jamestown’s first girls soccer win since 2010.

Taylor Orr was the high school boys winner, placing eighth out of 66 runners in the 300-meter hurdles at the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls, S.D. He ran a state-qualifying time of 41.38 seconds.

The college female honor went to Ashley Barnhart, who shot an 82 for seventh place to earn first-team all-conference at the conference qualifying tournament in Omaha, Neb. She was the top finisher from the North Star Athletic Association.

Paul Sitkowski was also honored, batting 6-for-8 with three doubles and five runs batted in as the No. 25 Jimmies won the conference tournament and earned a trip to nationals over the weekend.
