Jamestown High School’s Maggie Ridley and the University of Jamestown’s Amy Fearnside and Joey Murillo were honored as athletes of the week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.

Ridley, a freshman on the Blue Jay girls swimming and diving team, qualified for the state meet in diving last Saturday in Jamestown.

Fearnside, a sophomore from Morgan Hills, Calif., and wrestler on the Jimmie women’s wrestling team, remained undefeated at 12-0 on the season after winning the 116-pound championship during the Can-Am Open on Saturday in Jamestown. She also posted two victories during the Can-Am Duals on Friday.

Murillo, a sophomore wrestler for the Jimmies from El Paso, Texas, went 3-2 in the SDSU Daktronics Open in Brookings, S.D., on Saturday. During the open he defeated a SDSU wrestler who was a four-time state champion in high school.
