Jenna Reed and Nick Stockert of Jamestown High School and Nikki Iverson and Jesse Hacker of the University of Jamestown have been named athletes of the week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.

Reed, a senior on the JHS tennis team, went 2-0 in No. 2 singles play and 1-1 in No. 1 doubles matches against Williston and Dickinson.

Stockert won the Williston Invite at the Links of North Dakota with a round of 71. It was the first tournament victory for the junior. It was the first sub-par round of the season for any Blue Jay golfer and a career-best for Stockert.

Iverson, a senior on the Jimmie track and field team from Jamestown, placed second in the triple (35-1.75) and long (16-8.75) jumps at the North Star Athletic Association meet in Valley City. She also ran on the Jimmies’ second-place 400 relay team.

Hacker, a sophomore from Alexandria, Minnesota, had a career best throw of 48 feet, 4 inches to win the shot put at the NSAA meet.
