Person found dead in Minn. house fire

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. — One person was found dead over the weekend after emergency crews responded to a house fire in rural Thief River Falls.

The fire was reported at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday at the residence of Mark A. Lindholm, according to Marshall County Sheriff John Novacek. When firefighters arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

A short time later, firefighters discovered a badly burned body on the main floor of the residence, in Excel Township.

The body was taken to the medical examiner’s office in Grand Forks for identification and an autopsy.

The fire remains under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
