A laptop was stolen from an unlocked home in Pingree, N.D., Monday, according to the Stutsman County Sheriff's Office.

The Dell mini-laptop computer that was taken from 1696 U.S. Highway 281 SE was valued at $700, said Sgt. Jason Falk of the Stutsman County Sheriff's Office. Nothing else was taken.

"(The resident) was gone," Falk said, adding that the theft occurred in broad daylight, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday.

People in the area should be sure to keep their doors locked, and anyone with information about the theft should call the Sheriff's Office at 252-9000.
