Dickinson rallied from a four-run deficit in the opening game with five runs in the fifth to post a 5-4 victory and a conference split.

The Roughriders entered the game as contenders atop the statewide standings with a record of 7-4, and a 21-9 record overall.

A sacrifice fly from Landon Weiser scored Ben Walz in the first inning of the nightcap, Joey Gebhardt drew a bases-loaded walk in the second and Nate Soulis scored from third on a wild pitch in the third to stake Post 14 to a 3-1 lead.

Gebhardt singled to drive in Shaun Hogan and Ben Walz scored on a rundown play to rally Jamestown back in front for a 5-4 advantage. Hogan’s play added to the good day for Post 14, which improved to 3-13 in league play and 9-19 overall.

Cody Horn earned the win in relief, while Dickinson’s Dylan Wallner suffered the loss.

Dickinson found itself down 4-0 after an RBI double from Tyler Ukestad, an RBI single from Joey Gebhardt, a run scored off a wild pitch and an RBI single from Soulis — all in the fourth and fifth innings.

Brett Schweitzer got the win for the Roughriders.

Jamestown’s Landon Weiser took the loss, cruising until the fifth when a two-run homer from Cole Anderson capped a five-run inning for Dickinson.

Jamestown is back in action this weekend, when it hosts the Post 14 Invite Friday through Sunday.
