Public vote slated for $125M Minot bond issue
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Minot voters will go to the polls to decide whether to approve a $125 million bond issue for new school construction.
The Minot Daily News reports (bit.ly/1kq8tnE) that if the bond issue is approved Tuesday, it would increase school property taxes for the owner of a $200,000 home by about $460 per year.
The $125 million school bond issue would raise money for a number of projects, including a new 550-student elementary school on 10 acres of land already owned by the district.
The bond issue requires 60 percent or greater voter approval to pass.
