The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program is a nationally competitive program targeting projects that would acquire and/or develop public land for outdoor recreation purposes located within or serving jurisdictions delineated by the Census Bureau from the 2010 Census as having populations of 50,000 or more people and consisting of densely settled territory. A list of areas was published in the Federal Register on March 27, 2012.

The Land and Water Conservation Fund is a 1:1 matching grant program administered at the state level by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department and funded at the federal level by the U.S. Department of Interior, National Park Service. The LWCF provides grants for outdoor recreation projects such as ball fields, pools, campgrounds, playgrounds and land acquisitions for park development.

The pre-application cycle is now open and all preliminary applications must be submitted via email prior to 5 p.m. Aug. 8.

Pre-applications are online at www.parkrec.nd.gov, located under the grants tab.
