Rolla girl killed in bicycle accident
A six-year-old Rolla girl was killed last night when her bicycle was struck by a car on U.S. Highway 281 in Rolla, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The name of the girl has not been released.
The release indicates the girl was riding her bike across the highway when a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Ronald Mackinnon, 72, Rolla, struck the bike. Mackinnon said he was checking his rear view mirror and did not see the bicycle in time to avoid the accident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
