Schwarzenegger back to Mass. after missing summit
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has left California to be with his extended family in Massachusetts, where his mother-in-law is ailing.
His spokesman, Aaron McLear, says the governor left Monday night for Cape Cod.
Schwarzenegger's mother-in-law, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, has been hospitalized in critical condition at Cape Cod Hospital since last week.
The governor and his wife, Maria Shriver, are among family members who have been with her. Schwarzenegger returned to California on Sunday night and had planned to participate in the National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas.
Instead, he canceled his appearance and spent the day working in Sacramento.
