Slick road conditions for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning
The National Weather Service office in Bismarck issued a special weather statement for Stutsman County Tuesday evening.
Light snow along with patchy blowing and drifting snow will cause slick roads conditions Tuesday night over most of western and central North Dakota. Areas east of a line from Crosby, N.D., to Bismarck and Ellendal can expect 1 inch or 2 Tuesday night through Christmas morning. Little or no accumulation of snow is expected west of that line. Motorists should be on alert for snow drifting across highways with patches of ice developing shortly thereafter. Refreezing of precipitation that melted during the day Tuesday will also contribute to slick roads.
Motorists should use caution and allow extra time for travel on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
