Slippery conditions reported in western Stutsman County
Local law enforcement officials are warning of hazardous travel conditions this morning.
“Black ice out there,” said Chad Kaiser, Stutsman County sheriff. “Very slippery conditions. We’re getting the bulk of the calls from western Stutsman County.”
Kaiser reported receiving four calls of cars slipping into the ditch in about a half hour. There were no injuries in any of the accidents and tow trucks were being dispatched to get the vehicles back on the road.
Kaiser said anyone traveling should reduce speed and use extra caution today.
The National Weather Service is predicting northwest winds gusting to 23 miles per hour this morning. The winds are expected to become westerly at less than 12 mph this afternoon.
