Troske pleads guilty to murdering Pingree man, shooting New Rockford woman

SON sets its lefse-making day

Sons of Norway met Oct. 15 at Ave Maria Village.

The lefse-making day is tentatively set for Nov. 9 at Emanuel church. The annual bake sale will be on Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Buffalo Mall.

The Troll dancers have done performances at Valley City and Carrington nursing homes and will be dancing at Eventide, Rock of Ages and Ave Maria in the coming weeks. Six dancers helped with a dance workshop in Fessenden on Oct. 13.

Plans are being finalized for the Syttende Mai celebration on May 17, 2014, at the Knights of Columbus. There will be a dinner and dance with the Myron Somerfeld Orchestra.

A list of officers for 2014 was presented by the nominating committee. Election will be held in November.

Deb Gletne and Karen Freeman presented a program and quiz on Leif Ericson, the first European explorer to reach North America.

Barb Enger and Jodi Bunde were hostesses for October.

The next meeting of SON will be held at the Women's Club Room on Nov. 19. It is soup and bread night. Anyone wanting more information on Sons of Norway may contact Linda Mohn at 252-2930.
