12U softball team wins four straight

The Jamestown 12U softball team swept Fargo South on Tuesday and Devils Lake on Thursday.

Jamestown took the opener for South 16-7 as Alex Nihill had six strikeouts in two innings and had one hit and scored three runs offensively. Kyra Vogel pitched the final three frames and also went 1-for-1 with three runs.

In completing the sweep 18-8, Hailey Fletcher got the win in relief and scored three runs. Vogel, Nihill, McKenzie Paul and Lindsey Kiecker scored three runs each.

On Thursday, Jamestown scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning to rally for a 15-12 win. Nihill got the win in the circle. Kyra Vogel went 1-for-1 with three runs. Kylie Rowell added a hit and two runs.

Jamestown finished off the four-game sweep with a 12-7 win over Devils Lake. Fletcher, Nihill, Kiecker, Millisa Kukowski and Rowell touched home twice. Fletcher got the win in the circle.

Hillcrest men hold weekly contests

Ronnie Olson (2 feet, 4 inches on No. 17) Phil Cross (4-2 on No. 15), John Ruff (5-7 on No. 8) and Tom Oxtoby (11-6 on No. 7) were closest-to-the-pin winners at Hillcrest Men’s Association Night on Thursday.

Ruff had the top second shot (4-10 1/2 on No. 13), while Tom Kenna holed a putt from 3 feet, 10 inches on No. 11.

Jeremy Orn won the door prize.

Blue Jay Scramble rescheduled to July 25

The Blue Jay Scramble has been rescheduled to Friday, July 25 at 1 p.m.

Cost is $50 per player, which includes fees, greens fees, hole prizes, mulligans and lunch during tournament.

Blue Jay football camp July 14-16

The Blue Jay Football Camp is scheduled for July 14-16.

Three different sessions are planned for the camp.

The elementary camp for kids in grades 4-6 will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Jamestown Middle School green space.

The middle school camp for kids in grades 7-8 will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the JMS green space.

The high school camp for kids in grades 9-12 will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. at Ernie Gates Field.

Registration forms are available at the Jamestown High School office. Also, registration will be held the first day of camp 30 minutes prior to camp beginning.

Super Skins set for Wednesday

The Hillcrest Super Skins Golf Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16 at 10 a.m.

Cost is $12 for Hillcrest season pass holders and $12 plus green fees for non-pass holders. Cart rental is extra.

Included in cost are hole prizes, lunch and beverage during the tournament.
