Steve's Law passes Senate
Jamestown North Dakota 121 3rd St NW 58401

ST. PAUL -- A bill to allow first responders to use tools to rapidly treat opiate overdoses Tuesday unanimously passed the Senate.

Known as Steve's Law, named after a man who died of a drug overdose, allows public safety officials such as ambulance attendants and law enforcement officers to carry medication that helps people such as those suffering from heroin overdoses. The bill also provides legal immunity to those who try to help overdose patients.
