Michael Strain couldn’t have started his season off much better.

The Jimmies’ No. 1 golfer was light’s- out at the Jamestown Country Club, carving up the 6,600-yard course with a 5-under par round of 67 on Wednesday.

“I just wasn’t making many mistakes,” the junior from Motley, Minnesota said. “I had five birdies and no bogeys. It was a pretty good day.”

Strain’s sizzling round topped a strong day all around for the University of Jamestown golf program.
