Suspect arrested in Minnesota shooting
AURORA, Minn. — A 20-year-old Duluth man was wounded in a shooting at an Iron Range residence late Friday night, and a suspect was arrested after a foot chase.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office reported that the shooting happened at about 10:30 p.m. in rural White Township, on the eastern Iron Range near Aurora. The victim was transported to Essentia Health-Northern Pines hospital by a private vehicle, and then airlifted to a Duluth hospital with what officials said were non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, a 46-year-old White Township man, was located a short time later near the crime scene, and was apprehended by the sheriff's office K-9 unit after fleeing on foot. He was treated for minor injuries and then transported to the county jail.
The names of the victim and suspect had not yet been released.
