Suspect in double homicide in a coma
IRON RIVER, Wis. -- The man suspected of killing his own parents in their Iron River home was in an induced coma and will likely be charged with first degree murder later this week in connection with the slayings, law enforcement officials said in a press conference Monday.
Jim Crain, 79, and Eunice “Crickett” Crain, 76, were killed in their apartment Saturday. Police were dispatched to the scene at 6:15 p.m., after a 911 call. The suspect, Jimmy Crain, 44, has serious injuries from cuts to his body. It also was disclosed at the press conference that a 911 call asking for help was made by Eunice Crain, according to the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators have not been able to talk to the suspect, who is at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, Minn.
