The North Dakota Department of Transportation issued a travel alert on Friday afternoon for the western half and southeastern regions of North Dakota. The alert has been issued due to blowing snow which is causing snow drifts that may become heavy at times especially near shelters and structured areas. In some areas, snow is sticking to the roadway and causing icy conditions.
The alert includes highways in the following cities and areas: Jamestown, Valley City, Bismarck, Fargo, Minot, Dickinson and Williston.
Motorists are asked to monitor road conditions, reduce traffic speeds as weather conditions occur and use caution while traveling.
