The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a travel alert for western and central North Dakota through Friday. Conditions are such that motorists can still travel, but may experience hazardous winter driving conditions due to snow and blowing snow, causing reduced visibility. Motorists should be advised that snow drifts may be encountered at structures and sheltered areas and are encouraged to reduce speeds.

Cities currently affected by the alert include: Dickinson, Killdeer, Beulah, Minot, Kenmare, Bottineau, Harvey, Garrison and surrounding areas.

As this storm continues to move east throughout the night, conditions are expected to deteriorate with worse conditions expected in the northern portion of the state. To stay informed about rapidly changing conditions, go to the Travel Information Map at www.dot.nd.gov or call 511.
