Tanner Platt, 21, of LaPorte, Minn., and Kaitlyn Bacon, also 21, of Minot, were ejected from the motorcycle after it left the roadway and hit a tree.

Police reported that witnesses saw the driver, Platt, traveling north about 12:40 a.m. on 16 Street Northwest toward Golden Valley Lane at a high rate of speed. Both Platt and Bacon died at the scene, police said.
