UJ golf team adds five
Four North Dakota golfers are among the latest recruits for the University of Jamestown golf team.
Riley Sisson of Bozeman, Montana, also signed with the UJ men.
“We are very excited to add these fine young men and women to the University of Jamestown family,” head coach Dustin Jensen said. “Recruiting from our own backyard is extremely important, so keeping local kids in the area was a major priority with our spring recruiting class.”
Anderson, the son of Stacy Cape Anderson, was competed in the state golf meet and was a two-time MVP at Velva High School.
Miller earned all-region honors for Rugby and competed in the state meet twice. He is the son of Jeff and Karen Miller.
Bjornstad, competed in the state meet for North Star High School in Cando and was also active in volleyball. She is the daughter of Sig and Bella Bjornstad.
Brandt was a two-year recipient of the Low Score Award at Devils Lake High School. The daughter of Wayne and LeAnn Brandt, she’ll also participate in track and field for the Jimmies. She qualified for state in the shot put and discus this past season.
Sisson placed in the top 10 in multiple meets for Bozeman High School. He is the son of Todd and Traci Sisson.
“It is our feeling that these student-athletes will mesh well with our fall signees to put our program in a tremendous spot,” Jensen said. “In addition to being great students, they are great athletes with a strong passion for the game of golf. Their dedication, desire and willingness to go all in will take them to great places.”
