UJ hosts tough Dakota Wesleyan team tonight

The Jimmie men’s wrestling team’s lone home action of the month is tonight and it figures to be a tough test.

Dakota Wesleyan, the No. 1 team in the North Region, will be at the Hansen Center for a dual at 7 p.m. The Jimmies are ranked 10th in the region.

Coach C.J. Campbell highlighted four key showdowns at 133, 149, 157 and 165. At 141, Dillon Kifer, a national-qualifier as a freshman, makes his season debut against another top 149-pounder in Dakota Wesleyan’s Kyle Gerlach.

The marquee match will come at 165 were 2012 All-Americans square off in the Jimmies’ Pat Nord and Trever Devestern.

“Anything could happen in this battle of the beasts,” said Campbell.

Coby Horner will line up at 133 for the Jimmies, while Tyler Schnaubert gets the call at 157.

The dual opens a busy week for the Jimmies as they compete in the Ridgewater (Minn.) Duals Friday in Willmar, Minn., and the Husky Open in St. Cloud on Saturday.
