UJ students receive AAUW scholarship
Two University of Jamestown students were each awarded an AAUW Jamestown Branch scholarship to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Katianne Brockpahier and Andrea Knudsvig each received a $500 scholarship. The conference is sponsored by AAUW and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
The conference provides a transformative experience for attendees, and students return home ready to improve their campuses and their communities, the AAUW said. The National Conference for College Women Student Leaders is a conference that addresses the needs of current and aspiring female student leaders.
The keynote speakers this year are Chelsea Clinton, vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, and Lily Lui, CEO and co-founder of Public Stuff, which has revolutionized how more than 200 cities communicate with their citizens.
Students can also attend a Graduate School Fair that includes more than 50 graduate schools.
This is the sixth year that the Jamestown Branch AAUW has provided a scholarship to a UJ female student who is involved in the Character in Leadership program to attend the conference.
