The first robbery occurred around 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Gateway City Bank in Carrington. Greg Boosalis, division counsel for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Minneapolis, Minn., field office, said there is a suspect in custody for the Carrington robbery.

The second robbery happened around 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Northland Financial Bank in Medina.

Two suspects wearing colored masks, and one holding a handgun, took an unknown amount of money, left the bank and fled in a blue Chevy Trailblazer later found on the side of N.D. Highway 30 south of Medina.

Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser said it is believed the two suspects got into a second vehicle, a light-colored Lincoln SUV with North Dakota license plates. He said a witness who traveled into Medina on Friday morning before the robbery saw the Lincoln SUV, and noticed the Chevy Trailblazer sitting in about the spot as he was traveling back home on N.D. 30.

Boosalis said as of early Friday evening no suspects had been apprehended in the Medina robbery.

Anyone with information on the Medina robbery, or who may have seen a light-colored Lincoln SUV traveling on State Route  30 in the Medina area, are asked to call the FBI Fargo Office at 701-232-7241 or the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office at 701-252-9000.
