Vehicular crash results in damage

A car-vehicle crash at 1 p.m. Tuesday caused more than $8,000 in damage, according to the Jamestown Police Department

Kenneth Tanata, 76, Jamestown, was driving a 2011 Honda car west in the 100 block of 9th Street Southwest and had pulled up next to the curb.

Sharon Dunaway, 58, Jamestown, was in a 2010 Ford in the parking lot of the First Community Credit Union Building in the 100 block of 9th Street Southwest.

According to the police report, Tanata struck the vehicle Dunaway was driving when he attempted a U-turn as Dunaway made a left turn from the parking lot onto 9th Street Southwest.

Both drivers wore seatbelts.

Damage was estimated at $4,000 for the Honda and $4,000 for the Ford.

Tanata was cited for turning around when unsafe.
