West Fargo school work getting under way
WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Several years of construction in the growing West Fargo School District are under way, with the foundation being poured for an elementary school.
The Forum reports that architects also are designing the next middle school and mapping the transition of the Sheyenne Ninth Grade Center into a second high school.
Voters earlier this year overwhelmingly approved an $82.5 million bond package to fund new schools. West Fargo has about 7,200 students, and enrollment is expected to rise to 9,200 within five years.
Superintendent David Flowers says a facilities advisory committee has been formed to act as a liaison with the community. Other groups are determining school attendance boundaries and a timeline for creating sports teams and other extracurricular groups.
