What we think: Bravo to museum, buffalo for making list
Jamestown North Dakota 121 3rd St NW 58401

The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos and buffalo chip this week:

*Bravo to the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission’s Fly North Dakota Airports passport program that encourages pilots to visit all of the 89 airports in the state. And bravo to Keith Veil of Jamestown, the latest pilot from here to complete the program. Jamestown residents Dale Seckerson and Jay Dugan completed the passport program in late 2013. They are three of nine pilots who have completed the full passport program since its existence began in 2010.

*Bravo to organizers of the Precision Ag Action Summit, held in Jamestown earlier this week. The event featured numerous presentations on a variety of ag-related topics.

*Bravo to the Ag and Youth seminar that was held in conjunction with the Winter Ag Expo. About 200 third-graders from Stutsman County learned where their food comes from at the seminar.

*Bravo to White Cloud and the National Buffalo Museum for being honored by CNN in an article as one of “50 state, 50 spots for 2014.” The CNN article said “… There’s something fun to do in each and every state” and noted the Jamestown site and buffalo in that article.

*Buffalo chip to North Dakota ranking among the worst states for adopting basic highway safety laws, according to Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety, a nonprofit lobbying group. The group graded all 50 states and Washington, D.C., on whether they have adopted 15 “lifesaving” laws related to impaired and distracted driving, teen driving and protecting vehicle occupants. North Dakota and 10 other states were ranked among the worst. Other area states included in that worst ranking were South Dakota and Montana.
