The lighted Canadian Pacific Train, called the U.S. Holiday Train, is scheduled to stop in this area at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in Enderlin and 2:05 p.m. Wednesday in Carrington. Those planning to be at the stops should be there 15 minutes ahead of time. Willy Porter & The Claytons will perform. Donations of non-perishable items for the communities’ local food pantries are encouraged.
The Holiday Dance Recital for Top of the Stairs Dance Studio is at 7 p.m. today in DeNault Auditorium in the Reiland Fine Arts Center at the University of Jamestown. Classical, ballet, tapp, jazz and liturgical dances will be performed by students ages 3-70. Admisson: $8 adults, $5 students, free for preschool.
Free swimming is available at Jamestown High School from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent.

A holiday open house fundraiser for Alpha Opportunities is from 1 to 4 p.m. today in the R.M. Stoudt building that formerly housed Jamestown Auto Center on Business Loop East. Crafts, wreaths, fudge, cookies, jellies and other items will be for sale. Live music and refreshments by Santa are planned. Proceeds go to help the people served by Alpha.
The Holiday Craft Show is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Midkota Elementary School in Binford. Santa will be there for pictures to be taken. The event includes vendors and crafters and concessions provided by Midkota German Club. There is no admission charge; proceeds benefit the Midkota Elementary art department.
