Special Events

The Halcyon Trio Oregon performs in concert as part of the Performing Arts Series at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Voorhees Chapel. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by contacting the University of Jamestown Box Office at 252-3467, ext. 5435, emailing or visiting and clicking on "Community" and "Reiland Box Office." Season tickets are $35 and can be purchased by contacting Richard Walentine at 252-3467, ext. 5026.

Around Town/Area

Wood carving with a local wood carving group is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month in the Arts Center's Hansen Studio. There is no charge. Any skill and interest level welcome. Call Andy Kudrna at 320-5075 with questions.

Open mic night is from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Grace Episcopal Church, 405 2nd Ave. NE. All are welcome.

A bazaar and luncheon at Epworth United Methodist Church are from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 680 8th Ave. SW Valley City. Lefse, baked goods, crafts and baskets, along with lunch, will be available for purchase.

St. Mary's Fall Supper is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, located 6 miles east of Dazey, N.D. Menu: turkey dinner with all the trimmings and homemade German sauerkraut. The dinner is served family style: Admission: $12 adults, $6 students, $2 prschol. Gift baskets will also be for sale.



National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. through October. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.

Alfred Dickey Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464. The library is located at 105 3rd St. SE.

Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 5th St. SE.

The Arts Center, 115 2nd St. SW, Jamestown, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday or by appointment. There is no admission charge.

The Putnam House in Carrington is open for special events and by appointment by calling 701- 652-2090. There is no admission charge.

The Barnes County Historical Museum, 315 Central Ave. N, Valley City, is open year round from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is a freewill donation.

The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site near Cooperstown is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults, $3 for children, $1 for a child, $30 for family season passes and $15 for an individual season pass. Contact Mark Sundlov at 701-797-3691 for more information.

The Jamestown Fine Arts Association's annual art show is on display at the Arts Center through Oct. 18. The Arts Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday or by appointment. There is no admission charge.
