Wild force game 7
Zach Parise scored the go-ahead goal at the 13:31 of the third period as the Minnesota Wild forced game 7 of their Stanley Cup playoff series on Monday night.
Tied 2-2, the Minnesota native redirected a shot past Colorado goalie Semyon Varlamov and the Wild didn’t allow a goal the rest of the way. Minnesota added two empty-net goals and won 5-2.
Game 7 of the series is Wednesday night in Colorado.
Parise, the former University of North Dakota Star, had two goals and an assist in the game.
Mikael Granlund also scored for the Wild, who never trailed in the game. They led 2-0 before the Avalanche got back in it with a short-handed goal from Paul Stasny at the 16:59 mark of the first period.
Darcy Kuemper finished with 23 saves for the Wild.
Varlamov stopped 21 shots.
